Love...the word is an alarum,an enticement,a powerful charm to seduce and beguile...

For millenia, love has been the root of Man's emotional and intellectual anxieties. It has caused man to rise to great acts of nobility and heroism and abandon fear in the spirit of self-sacrifice.Conversely...love has been the impetous for fatous and selfish behaviour.Witness the young and foolish Paris (the Trojan prince, not the Hotel Heiress) as he leads Troy to war over the object of his affection,Helen.Observe the spiralling downfall of Marc Anthony (the Roman General, not the Latina singer) as he allows his astute judgement to be clouded by the stately, enigmatic beauty of Cleopatra. From the lovelorn youth to the debonair statesman, no man can claim that his mind is an insensate rock against the call of his heart.

The ecstacy of the agony dictates that man must go through tribulations before the purity of love is fully understood and comprehended. In light of the torment that Love's survival demands, years roll by in the favor of an affair that will one day be consummated, but only at a moment in time that is undeniably terminal, at an age where physical corrosion harmonizes with emotional strife, and when their self-inflicted passions become, finally, a compassion that cannot logically be disentangled from the slow dying that infiltrates each of their lives.

Have you read of Peter Abelard and Heloise?Theirs is truly a case whereby the right to love has been militated against by an uncaring, inhumane and merciless society. The strict adherence to religious dogma at that age prevented Man's true instinct to manifest naturally. The spiritual torments, the psychological pain and the intense grief that characterised the whole tragedy shows the world the result of culling Man's inherent tendency to love and be loved. We can draw parallels between their plight and the plight of many homosexuals around the world. It is interesting to note, that in this day of digicams and Gmail, people in society actually see homosexuality as a disease. In many instances, blatant discrimination has been exhibited.A prominent Anglican Bishop in Nigeria, who claims to be "highly educated" speaks of it in a BBC broadcast as if it is an ailment or a malady that requires some kind of purifying treatment. In a proud,self-righteous tone,he claims that people in his nation largely view homosexuality as "an evil spirit that must be purged from the victim's body".He claims that it is unnatural and condemned by the bible.well, all i can say is...it is precisely this kind of judgemental attitudes that militate against the true flowering of the human spirit...what do you think?

Love is not always noble and sacred. At times,it can be warped, obsessive and deviant in nature.Tainted love is lust-a dark and savage force that cruelly mirrors the attraction that love entails.just as the attractive force of true love is irresistible and incomprehensible, the attractive force of lust leads Man's mind away from sanity and equilibrium.Simply put,Man is driven, against his voilition,to base, animalistic acts in order to find an outlet for his primal physiological needs...witness the paedophiles and the rapists...the burning urge and the craven, wild hunger leads to the destruction of innocence and chastity.

you must think i'm a cynic...to have viewed love in its darkest, darkets aspects...but what i seek to prove i merely the fact that love is complex...it is something with more than one dimension to it.too often,it is viewed in its superficiality and the corrupted aspects of love are veiled and covered...never brought into the open..To the philospher,"Veritas",or the truth,is the omnipotent concept.what i have tried to done,is not tell you the truth about love.i have just told you the truth about the truth.Complex?go figure...hope to hear from u guyz soon.
